“What drew me and kept me watching the five henna-haired, barefoot dancers in Bello's "Sol y Sombra" ("Sun and Shadow") were the rudiments of a genuine movement style. Few straight lines invade Bello's choreography, as the cast swirls and slithers across the performance space, dipping and rising in their trajectory, offering florid arm gestures. Bello shows a keen eye for geometry as patterns emerge and vanish. This is one choreographer who doesn't detain us with anything very long.”
